CH Robinson to donate up to $ 75,000 during Truckers’ Appreciation Week

CH Robinson launched a digital thank you campaign and raffle designed to galvanize the nation behind an important goal: to pay tribute to the truck drivers who never got off the road and never stopped delivering, even during the most difficult times.

The global logistics company encourages the public and its employees to submit thank you notes to Thank you for drivers who have always delivered everything from food and household items to medicines and life-saving supplies. As part of the thank you campaign, CH Robinson will be giving away a total of $ 50,000 in cash raffle to truck drivers and carriers during National Truck Drivers Appreciation Week (September 12-18 ). In addition, the CH Robinson Foundation will donate $ 1 per message of thanks submitted – up to $ 25,000 – to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, which helps truckers in need.

Truck drivers working with CH Robinson travel more than 10 billion kilometers per year, giving the company a unique understanding of the essential services they provide. To name a few, truckers have contributed to the movement of:

  • 70% of all freight, or about 11 billion tonnes of cargo, according to the American Trucking Associations (ATA)
  • Over 94.6 million N-95 respirators, 149.2 million surgical masks, 14.3 million face shields and over one billion pairs of gloves for FEMA, the US Department of Health and Human Social services and the Airbridge project only, according to FEMA
  • At least $ 791.7 billion in goods sold online as e-commerce grew 32% in 2020, according to US Census Bureau

“Truckers and carriers are essential to the global economy, and their work impacts our daily lives,” said Bob Biesterfeld, President and CEO of CH Robinson. “While they have always played an important role in the logistics industry, working with platforms like ours to deliver goods where and when they are needed, this past year has really underscored their importance. During the pandemic, when so many people started working remotely and getting more home deliveries, truck drivers never got off the road. They delivered when it mattered most. We are proud to recognize them for the commitment they demonstrate every day, but especially now. “

CH Robinson encourages people to visit the Thank you website, where anyone can express their appreciation for truck drivers by submitting a thank you note, photo or video. The content will then be shared publicly on the site’s Thank You virtual bulletin board, as well as on CH Robinson’s social media channels.

Thank you is also where truckers and carriers can submit their names, starting September 7, to win money in the $ 50,000 Trucker Appreciation Week contest. Ten different winners will be selected each day from September 13 to 17 to receive $ 1,000 each, providing multiple opportunities to win throughout the week.
