CAT Scale Rig of the Week | Bubba branch

This week’s CAT Scale Rig of the Week is made to grab the attention of everyone who sees it.

Bubba Branch bought this 1996 Kenworth W900 in April 2020. When he picked it up the truck was white, but he knew he wanted to paint it red to make it stand out in a crowd.

The entire interior had been removed, down to the bare metal, so a new muffler carpet was placed in the cab and sleeper, then new floors, seats, SH Tube twist shifter and new door panels, roof and berth. Bubba’s 8-year-old son painted the dash and all of the accent pieces were painted by his wife.

After the interior was completed, SH Tube fabricated all of the stainless steel accent pieces on the platform, as well as the speaker enclosures in the cabin. Other custom parts include mirror mounts, exhaust pipe mounts, gauge and shifter, and more.

The Kenworth is powered by a CAT 3406E engine with an 18-speed transmission. Bubba mainly transports equipment with the truck. He has been driving for about 26 years.

The entire truck took Bubba about a year and a half to build, but he said it still wasn’t 100 percent complete.
